Pollution

Dear Jacinda Ardern,

Today, Finlayson Park School has been learning about how we can help the environment, because animals have been dying from plastic and rubbish. An interesting fact about animals are wildlife have been dying because of balloons. Our animals consume these balloons causing them to become ill. Also according to scientists two million tons of sewage and industrial waste is dumped into the ocean each day. We obviously don't appreciate our oceans.

When birds and animals eat plastic it takes about 450 years to decompose so it gets stuck in animals throats when they swallow plastic. Don't you want to help save our precious animals?

Please help our animals, because I believe people can make a difference by swapping our plastic bags, bottles, straws and toothbrushes for reusable or biodegradable items. These items are better for the environment as they decompose easily, also they won't harm our animals. So I ask you Jacinda, to ban plastic bags and encourage people to make better decisions.

Finally my name is Tamia, and in my opinion we need to ban plastic to save our animals and the environment.

Kind Regards,
Tamia.

  1. Hi Tamia,
My name is Caitlin I never knew about this unacceptable problem. What do you think Jancinda Adern should do about the waste still out there not only in New Zealand but the rest of the world? I acknowledge your thoughts on pollution.

  2. Hi Caitlin, I'm so happy u agree about my pollution work. Jancinda Adern should make more rules for pollution, One Rule that she can make up is, If you see rubbish at the beach or outside places, pick it up so animals or other animals on the beach don't die. What rule would you make up for pollution?
