Pollution Letter - Peter
Dear
Jacinda Ardern,
Did
you know the earth is full of plastic and it is harming our precious animals?
When
people litter they throw their rubbish into the sewers, this rubbish goes
through the sea. This
rubbish includes plastic bags, bottles, glass and food packaging.
We
should ban plastic now! Because it is harming our animals and the seas are
becoming full of rubbish, mostly plastic. There are over 60 million pieces of
rubbish in the sea. How terrible is that? Because there is so much rubbish and
people are not recycling people have had to make landfills so that people can
throw their rubbish in it and these plastic rubbish have stayed there for years
and years. Apparently, it takes 500 years for a plastic bottle to decompose.
The
whole world is tired of plastic and we really want it banned, plastic and
rubbish is harmful for our animals and our birds as well, because they think
its food and they swallow it and the chemicals and plastic get stuck in their
digestive system and they die of hunger.
There
are many things that you can do to help reduce the use of plastic. The first
thing we can do is instead of using plastic bottles, you can buy one bottle and
reuse it. The second thing people can do is make a tote bag and use it for shopping
at Pak ‘n’ Save, New World and the supermarket. The last thing people can do is
instead of using plastic cups you can use reusable cups.
Hi
my name is Peter and I really think plastic and rubbish should be banned
because I feel so bad about it.

Hey Peter! Thanks so much for writing this letter! I totally agree with everything that you have said in this letter! I really love the way that you added immense description to this letter. I remember one time when at study support we had to write letters to Jacinda Adern. Unfortunately they weren’t actually sent to her. If you could do something really big to stop pollution that would cost you...Would you?

I totally agree with you Peter. Plastics are slowly killing our planet and all who live on it. Something has to be done. A letter to our Prime
ReplyDeleteMinister is a good start.
