What is pollution?

                                

Pollution is when, something harmful gets into the environment, animals, plants and humans. There are 5 types of pollution land, air, sound and light. There are many people around the world who are trying to make a change by changing the law, creating inventions and groups of people are going out of the community to clean up our oceans.

Land, Air and Water Pollution

There are three types of pollution that are affecting the environment. These are land, air and water. Land pollution is rubbish that doesn’t decompose or break down. Air pollution is gas, smoke and worst of all smog. Did you know Smog can cause cancer?

Water pollution is gas, chemicals and waste dumped in the oceans. Trash in the ocean sinks to the bottom and gets pickup by sea animals such as turtles. They eat plastic bags because turtles eat jellyfish and think plastic bags are jellyfish.

How does pollution affect people animals and the environment?

Pollution affects people, animals and the environment by getting people sick, animals dying, trees dying, and holes in the Ozone and many more things. Did you know 15 holes get made in the Ozone by us, I know that’s not a lot but imagine that in a year that will make 5,475 holes in the Ozone, that's is super dangerous for humans because it lets in the sun rays that can cause skin cancer!

What has been done to solve this pollution problem?

People are designing inventions, Jacinda Ardern is banning plastic bags permanently and groups of people are going around the country are picking up rubbish in our ocean and land.

So next time you see rubbish on the ground use 5 minutes of your time and pick them up. It will help to look after our beautiful environment.
